In many ways, my paintings represent the flickerings, the movement, and the fluidity and spontaneity of paint and color. I draw on my internal images of nature and landscape as inspiration, rather than reference to specific places or events. I try to encompass the looseness and happenstance of nature and seek to evoke a sense of energy, contemplation, and beauty. My hope is to create images that speak to the viewer’s unspoken yearnings, ideas about the beautiful or other spiritual and intellectual ideas that can’t be easily put into words. My explorations of nature and natural forms are expressed on varied mediums, including monoprints and collages, but more typically acrylic on canvas and on paper. Awake and SIng
