2006 Fall Festival Curator's Choice

	This Years Curator's Choice Artists Include: Haley Barnett, Jim Barrera, Chris Bernacchi, Jeremi Bialowas, Iwona Biedermann, Alicia Chester, Erin Culton, Pat Dorsey, Lauren Feece, Firehouses Across America, Beata Garanty, Sadie Harmon, Richard Hren, Scott Johnson, Mat Barber Kennedy, James Klekowski, and Suvi Konttinen, John Kowalczyk, Patricia Leeper, Marc McGowan, Maggie Meiners, Gabriel Mejia, Mark Messerly, Jim Moran, .Jo-elle Munchak, Ben Myers, Daniel Nolan, Darren Oberto, Kerry Obrist, Lynn Renne Persin, Natalia Pudzisz, Angela Samila, Russ White, Ania Wilczak, and Anthony Zahner.

Tricia Van Eck, curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, has selected artworks for inclusion in the Curator's Choice Exhibition, a small group of work deemed "best of the fest" on view at the Around the Coyote Gallery September 6 - September 30. This artwork will be on silent auction throughout the festival weekend with 65% of all proceeds going to the artists and 35% of all proceeds going to support Around the Coyote's arts and education programming. Included in this year's Curator's Choice Exhibition are works on paper by Sadie Harmon, an artist who uses an ambiguous combination of humor and melancholy to explore themes like "hip failures" and "exhilarating love" with animal imagery and text.
	Also selected for this year's Curator's Choice is Ben Myers, an artist who uses a process called "microscopy" to explore the visual "parallels in structure and form" between the macro and micro world through ultra close-up images of plants. His artistic process, which utilizes the "most advanced instrumentation available for nanotechnology research," results in images that are landscape-like and extraordinarily detailed.
